William Le Baron Jenney was born September, 25 in the year of 1832 in Fairhaven, Massechusets.
William Jenney was the son of William Proctor Jenney and Eliza Le Baron (Gibbs) Jenney. His New England surroundings such as the textile mills helped Jenney solve some of his engineering problems. He attended Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts. In the Civil War Jenney worked as an engineer from 1861-1865.
